NSEF Scavenger Hunt

The NSEF Scavenger Hunt was held as part of
North
Stonington’s Bicentennial Celebration on Sunday, May 27,
2007.
The Scavenger Hunt
began and ended at the North Stonington Grange Fairgrounds on Wyassup Road.
This family-friendly event led participants on a fascinating
driving adventure of discovery as they searched for clues and collected
tokens along North Stonington’s
charming country roads.
The
hunt included a variety of historical
North
Stonington farms, inns, and cemeteries.
“The Two Vilmas!” team was the first to return and win the first prize
of George Stone’s
Cracker Barrel
Chronicles donated by the Other Tiger Bookstore.
The second and third prizes were a pen and ink print of a
North Stonington landmark donated by Ed Tucchio, and a
watercolor of a local
North Stonington
scene donated by Jean Ridall.
Refreshments were served.
All participants and site owners were
provided a souvenir booklet, which included pen and ink drawings by
local artist Suzanne Starr, and historical details of the twelve Scavenger
Hunt sites.
