More Than $34,000 in Grants Awarded for the 2025–26 School Year

The North Stonington Education Foundation (NSEF) is proud to announce the awarding of more than $34,188.40 in grants to support innovative programs, classroom resources, student enrichment opportunities, and professional development across North Stonington Public Schools for the 2025–26 school year.

This year’s grants will fund a wide variety of educational initiatives, including literacy programs, STEM activities, performing arts equipment, athletics resources, makerspace materials, cultural experiences, and technology enhancements for students from kindergarten through high school.

Highlighted projects include:

  • Read-aloud listening centers for kindergarten classrooms

  • Kindle e-readers for the Wheeler Media Center

  • Audio and visual equipment for the Performing Arts Department

  • A portable outdoor scoreboard for middle school athletics

  • Hands-on chemistry and STEAM learning experiences

  • Cultural enrichment opportunities through music, dance, and field trips

  • Student leadership and collaboration programs connecting Wheeler and Preston students

In addition to student-focused grants, NSEF also awarded professional development funding to support teacher training and continued innovation in the classroom.

 

Since its founding in 2004, the NSEF has awarded more than $233,000 in grants to support educational opportunities for North Stonington students and staff.

 

NSEF extends its appreciation to the educators, staff members, community partners, and donors who continue to support opportunities that enrich the educational experience for North Stonington students.
