Cheryl Haase graduated from Wheeler High School in 1978. She resides in North Stonington with her husband Todd and their four children, Shane, Noah, Raina, and Ayva. Cheryl is a positive role model for Wheeler students and the North Stonington community. She promotes positivity on social media and is always looking for ways to promote happenings in the North Stonington school community.
Cheryl balances her family, work, and community involvement through her busy schedule at Red Onion Pizza, where she is always working to make it festive and inviting for all. Cheryl loves people and animals and goes above and beyond to assist others, especially when they are in need. She is often dropping off food or giving donations to those in need, many times without them knowing it.
In 2022, Cheryl was recognized and presented with the first-ever Attorney General Citizen Hero Award for the work she did on behalf of David Guy, an 82-year-old U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Mr. Guy had lost his cane, and Cheryl organized a campaign that eventually led to him receiving a new cane, which then led to a huge community rally to get him into a new home that was much safer than the one he was residing in at the time.
Cheryl continues to make a huge impact on the community of North Stonington. She promotes self-care and love whenever she gets the chance and works hard to support women in the local and surrounding communities, often speaking of building them up and acknowledging the contributions of women in society today.
Cheryl Haase is very deserving of Wheeler High School’s Distinguished Alumni Award. She has had a hand in so many initiatives in North Stonington, and the community is grateful for her using her voice to advocate for those in need.
