Jennifer Strunk graduated from Wheeler High School in 2001. She resides in North Stonington with her husband, Joshua, and their two children, Evelyn and Emmett. Jennifer has distinguished herself as a respected leader in her profession and in the creation of numerous cultural events at the local level.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jennifer created the “Frights and Lights” Parade to provide a safe and joyful way for the community to celebrate and gather. Over the years, the event has grown and now provides opportunities for local businesses and creators to showcase their work. She has also been instrumental in supporting the North Stonington Fire Company’s annual Christmas Parade.

Outside of her professional work, Jennifer has played a critical role in raising funds for the restoration and revitalization of the Wheeler Library. She chairs the library’s largest fundraising event for its capital campaign and donates an extraordinary amount of time and expertise to ensure the library’s continued role at the heart of North Stonington’s educational and cultural life.

Jennifer Strunk is very deserving of Wheeler High School’s Distinguished Alumni Award. Her efforts go far beyond event planning, as she has redefined how North Stonington comes together to celebrate, support, and thrive as a community through her leadership.
