Karcher “Kasha” Deshgy graduated from Wheeler High School in 2002. She resides in North Stonington with her husband and four children. Karcher is a positive role model for Wheeler students and the North Stonington community through her career as the North Stonington Animal Control Officer.
Karcher shows a tremendous level of respect for the animals and residents of the community and treats them as if they were her own. Her deep commitment and devotion to the health and well-being of animals was recognized in 2023 when she was named Connecticut Animal Control Officer of the Year. She also received the North Stonington Lions Club Humanitarian Award.
As Animal Control Officer, Karcher is available 24/7 to residents. She responds to calls at all hours and goes above and beyond to support and defend the animals of the community. She is highly knowledgeable in animal laws, protection, and cruelty prevention, and works tirelessly to ensure humane care and treatment of all animals, large and small.
Karcher Deshgy is very deserving of Wheeler High School’s Distinguished Alumni Award. She is a positive role model not only for Wheeler students but for the entire community through her kindness and devotion to animals.
