Marc White ’03

Marc White graduated from Wheeler High School in 2003. A week after graduation, Marc entered the United States Marine Corps. Since becoming a member of the Marine Corps, he has served our country in many capacities and has been awarded many commendations, including various combat ribbons and a Purple Heart.


Throughout his military career, Staff Sergeant White has been awarded the Presidential Service Badge for his service as part of President George W. Bush’s security team. This opportunity allowed him to work in the White House on a daily basis and travel to over 16 different countries.


He was deployed as part of the War in Iraq (2006–2007) and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan (2011–2012), for which he earned two Combat Action Ribbons. While being deployed in Iraq, he was wounded on September 18, 2006, and received a Purple Heart.


Mr. White has earned over 17 different medals and ribbons. In addition to the Purple Heart and Presidential Service Badge, other honors he has received include the Naval Achievement Medal, Volunteer Service Medal, NATO ISAF Medal, National Defense Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. Staff Sergeant White has dedicated himself to his country to protect all of us. His dedication exemplifies the spirit and accomplishments of Wheeler High School Distinguished Alumni.
