Robert Miner, a member of the Wheeler High School Class of 1984, is recognized as a Distinguished Alumni for a lifetime dedicated to agriculture, community service, and mentorship. Raised on his family’s dairy farm in North Stonington—founded by his grandfather in 1920—Robert developed a deep-rooted passion for farming that continues to shape his life and work today. Alongside his wife, Cheree, and their son, Jason, he has built a life grounded in family, hard work, and community.
A strong advocate for agriculture, Robert has served as President of the North Stonington Grange and was honored by the Connecticut State Grange with the Outstanding Agricultural Young Professional Award. Through his involvement with the North Stonington Agricultural Fair and related programs, he has mentored 4-H students and supported agricultural education by providing animals, equipment, and hands-on guidance to young people.
Robert’s impact extends well beyond the farm. He has mentored students in the Ledyard High School Vo-Ag program, supported the local scouting community, assisted Wheeler High School seniors with mentorship and resources for senior projects, and served on the North Stonington Wetlands Commission. In 2024, he was recognized with the North Stonington Lions Club Humanitarian Award for his generosity and unwavering commitment to others.
Whether offering advice, lending a hand, or encouraging the next generation, Robert exemplifies the values of service, humility, and leadership. A lifelong resident of North Stonington, he takes great pride in his community and in helping it thrive. Wheeler High School proudly honors Robert Miner as a Distinguished Alumni for 2026.
